今天是12月的開始，聖誕節也快到了。若要聽應景的聖誕歌，我想介紹一首很有意義的聖誕歌，它是由Band Aid推出的「Do They Know It’s Christmas？」。Band Aid是由Bob Geldof和Midge Ure，這兩位音樂人在1984年所創立的，它主要為了籌措慈善基金，用來救助衣索比亞的飢荒災民。
團名取作為Band Aid (OK繃)，意味著他們希望能夠撫平或救助，因為嚴重飢荒所造成的巨大傷口。他們的確做到了，「Do They Know It’s Christmas？」在推出後，得到了極大的迴響，它曾經創下英國單曲最佳的銷售成績，而且影響力繼續發酵，到了隔年1985年，美國也推出了「We Are The World」四海一家的公益活動，大家為善不落人後。(註：「Do They Know It’s Christmas？」後續又重新灌錄了三次，你聽過的是那一版？！)
大家都很熟悉「We Are The World」，不過這首「Do They Know It’s Christmas？」也非常好聽。它的表演者大牌雲集，除了負責打鼓的Phil Collins外，從一開場的Paul Young (這段本來是要寫給David Bowie唱的，但是他來不及參加錄音，所以就換成Paul Young，但是David Bowie在演唱會上有開唱，有興趣的人可以看留言處的MV)，到接下來Culture Club的Boy George、Wham！的George Michael、Duran Duran的Simon Le Bon、The Police的Sting、Spandau Ballet的Tony Hadley、再到U2的Bono， 還有參與合唱的Kool & The Gang、Ultravox、Bananarama、Jody Watley…等人，這個陣容應該算是很強了。
我在留言處放了三個MV，當然一定有原始版本，這個版本還附上字幕，方便大家一起邊聽邊唱。最有意思的是幕後版本，雖然長度有十多分鐘，但我很推薦大家看看，有很多沒看過的畫面出現。另外，我意外發現一個演唱會版本，大家台上台下唱成一團，這實在太難得了，試想你要到那兒，才能一次看到這麼多巨星(有David Bowie / Beatles的Paul McCartney / Queen的Freddie Mercury在同一個畫面喔…)，同一時間站在台上唱歌啊？！
最後，附上重要的歌詞，我每次跟著聽(或是唱)到最後一段的Feed The World，免不了會激動起來，抱著感恩的心情，慶幸我能生活在幸福的地方。
